Has anyone created a list of every alien species in Star Trek?

I was wondering if anyone has managed to create a list of every Star Trek species that has been seen or mentioned in an episode, movie, novel, comic book, RPG book or video game. I currently have a list of more than 1000 Star Trek species but it's nowhere near complete.

I'm betting our Deranged Nasat can help in this situation.

Ah, but the problem is that the OP asked for every species in every form of Star Trek source material, presumably from any and all continuities/interpretations. :p My lists would only cover those who are part of the canon/novel 'verse/anything that doesn't contradict or rest too uncomfortably with those; I'm too selective and discriminatory.

Plus there are other issues inherent to any attempt at this; there are proper nouns that might be species or might be something else, for instance. I've seen lists that feature Tarvokian as a race name, but since the noun is used in the context of "Tarvokian powder cake" and "Tarvokian pound cake" it makes as much sense, if not more, to assume that Tarvokian is a cake-making company as a race. Is a Kinjal frigate from the Kinjal race or from the Kinjal outpost/shipping company/space fighter race gang?

If a proper noun was used to describe a ship or a cake, I wouldn't put it on my list. I understand that such a list can never be absolutely complete because there are many species in Star Trek that don't have names. For example, I don't know how to put the creature from Vox Sola on my list because it doesn't come from a named planet and it doesn't have any named individuals.

Wasn't this just a random example that Extrocomp pulled out as an illustration anyway? I don't think this one specific species was a huge concern to them. :p
