Get a candle, light it, and pour some liquid wax on the back of your hand. You won't need a skin graft, you won't need to spend time in a hyperbaric chamber, in fact, it may not even leave a mark that lasts overnight.

You've probably got a better chance of being severely burned by having your hot water heater turned up too high.
