does any one else agree? the potter series is usually classified as contemporary fantasy but watching the third film, the film came off more like science fantasy because of the time travel elements which is very similar to back to the future. the series gets the predestination paradox well from a scientific point of view only thing is they use magic and not any science equipment to travel back in time.

I really loved that film, it was one of the best fantasy films ever and John Williams score is just to die for.

Time travel using magic is just plain fantasy.

I sort of agree but the reason why I brought in the science part was how the presidential paradox, which is a quantum mechanics hypothesis is used so well in the film.

I even loved the xmen days of future past and back to the future elements in the film where you see the past and future characters disappear when an event has been change at a point in time, that is why I feel the film is more like science fantasy.

It has the magic and the quantum mechanics theory interwoven so well. although I ill argue the film is more like XMEN DOFP than back to the future and DOFP is classified as a sci-fi/suphero film.
