Harry and the Borg Queen > WTF?

Tino

Captain
Captain
Remember "Unimatrix Zero", when the Borg Queen appeared on the viewscreen and told our beloved always-to-be-ensign "See you, Harry"? What was that all about? A story they never picked up?

^
A 'creepy-for-the-sake-of-being-creppy' moment. 'Harry, I know your name, and where you live, and I've got a galactic army of drones to do my bidding...'

^^^Basically.

Harry was the "baby" of the group. It wasn't a warning for him as much as it was for Janeway.

The Queen was basically telling Janeway. "If you come after me and mine, I'll come after you and yours and nothing you do will stand in my way. You can't even protect your youngest ones like Harry."

The Queen was making a veiled threat.

What was he 28?

I perfectly believe you.

But I also think that moment was enough to make Harry touch himself at night when he should be sleeping so many times that he would quickly fall in love with the Queen and eventually betray his crew to experience fatally just once the errotic thrill of her assimilation tubules piercing into his neck.

Yes, I think Harry is that stupid.

:guffaw:

You're a sick puppy, you know that? :guffaw:

Brian's cousin Jasper said he was a Rice Queen in an episode of Family Guy.

I figured it was a common American phrase for people into Asians.

From the dictionary reference I found (above) the "queen" aspect of that term mostly refers to boys who enjoy the sweet sweet Gay loving. Which walks us right into Austen powers territory: She's a man, she's a man baby!

Okay work with me.

Why don't we eat our pets?

Dogs and cats?

because we associate an emotional bond with them?

Or did we associate an emotional bond with them because we don't want to eat them?

Chicken and egg. Right?

Maybe she talked to Harry then personally because the Queen had marked him for "non-assimilation" because of Seven of Nines incredibly gratingly low appraisal of his character and capabilities as a person and a member of a unit, god forbid his actual ability to be productive, that like the Kazon, who the Borg wouldn't assimilate because these glue haired buggers would detract form their perfection, Harry would also at least as equally detract from the Borgs perfection.

Yes I think harry is that Stupid.

Seven demoted Harry in the Omega Effect for idleness and disobedience, and he mounted an insurrection in response! He's defective stock! So, honestly since he is not "food" to the Borg, they have to do something else with him apart from murder or assimilation since he is neither worth killing or worth the expenditure of resources to kill.

Considering how much the doctor complained he smelled later on in season seven's Body and Soul, it's doubtful you could even boil him down for soap to to clean a little of some dirty Borg Cube hull that it would do a decent job.

So if he's not assimilation fodder, then what the hell is he to the Borg?

I mean Guinin said that one day that Humanity would be able to develop a relationship with the Borg, and we can see from their war with 8472 that they pick fights with more evolved and more powerful species which they don't really stand a chance against... So that's not how you strike a friendship up with these things by giving them somethign to covet, but rather if Man was to slide backwards, becoming as Pathetic as the Kazon or Kim, then they might be safe from further Borg incursions if enoguh of humanity also became unassimilarablely pathetic that the awsome and exceptional humans can crouch down and hide behind the gimps like Kim.

Consider that there might be some sort of relationship with between the Borg and the Kazon now, that they're no worth assimilating or wasting a torpedo on, they might even be able to set up diplomatic and trade relations as long as they made sure they were not becoming unique in any one fashion that would suddenly become of interest to the Borg.

The Borg would have to verbally erect contracts and treaties with the Kazon to make sure they just fuck off, which would mean that it would have to have been made worth the Kazons to stop annoying the Borg, since they can cross Borg Space with complete impunity which would eventually be a damn valuable commodity if they were smart enough to exploit it.

Pilot fish.

More so if Harry is unassimilateable, and he makes it onto a Borg Cube, as Voyager is processed for it's metals and even Neelix is made into a Drone... What is Harry going to do to survive? He'd probably eventually have to start eating Drones while they're regenerating like a reverse Zombie, and that's really going to piss off the queen quickly. Although, one Drone could last him a month or more if he can figure out how to store the corpses for freshness, and sacrificing one drone a month to assure that harry Kim is not accidentally assimilated in to the collective doesn't seem like too much of an unnecessary expenditure.

hell they could even start leaving a bowl of kibble and a saucer of milk out for young Kim which is an even further economic use of their resources. After a few years of that, the Queen would start calling him her puppy and scratching him under the chin as a sign of affection and...

How odd.

She wouldn't dare assimilate Harry. He has the Species 8472 nanoprobes in his bloodstream. The Borg are all talk...

This was in part one of Unimatrix Zero, right? When they wrote it they may have intended to do something wirh this but when they wrote part 2 they probably dropped it. So we're left with it being some kind of veiled threat to scare the crew.

With all the fucking the studio did with the show ("Year of Hell", for example, was supposed to be a year long arc), I'd bet the studio and last minute script changes to the second part changed what ever was going ot happen to Harry.

That line was likely foreshadowing to something that got destroyed later.

She's not just a Borg Queen, she's a Rice Queen too.

Lucky Harry...

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: I got that without having to look it up. I haven't heard that in years. (I used to know a gay guy nicknamed "Connie Chung." Oh, that's just tacky, so tacky...). I bet you read the comic strip "Secret Asian Man" too.
