Hard to believe....

I always have had poor luck with Trek Lit in Barnes&Noble, like the OP ststed. There were like two rows and that was it. I was going to hit Boarders because they had a little bit more but they have closed allstores. Book stores in generalare dying :( but I have been buying all of the older novels online happily. There is a comic book store near my univeristy campus but they don't restock their Trek Lit. I have pretty much cleaned them out of their stock on my own. There is also a local book store that had 1 Star Trek novel and now has 0. :(

That's because Diamond Distribution decided, a few years ago now, to drop Star Trek fiction from their monthly orderpak. Comic stores would have to place an order for ST novels with Simon & Schuster directly, or a large MMPB distributor.

But that store will probably happily pre-order Star Trek titles for you. Give them a list of your wants three months in advance and quote the ISBNs if you can. If the manager seems interested in science fiction or other media tie-ins, talk to him/her. Bookshops often choose to stock media tie-ins only for those TV series and movies currently screening, because the publicity generated by the public word of mouth helps sell the merchandise, and vice versa, books and toys in the stores advertise the availability of the new TV show or movie.
