Not even kitchen appliances? My oven and microwave only have 24 hour clocks, which I prefer anyway. The only 12 hour clocks in the house are the analogue ones.
They must have when they travel abroad as many timetables will use 24 hour format.

Nope. Americans don't typically use 24 hour clocks unless they're in the military.
^ Well, thank you but that wasn't my question. In other countries, where they use 24 hour clocks, they understand each other quite well by saying "sixteen hours". What was the "brilliant" idea behind adding the useless "hundred" to it?
