It is now 2011 in Eastern Australia (except for Queensland which doesn't have Daylight Saviing).

My new years resolution is -

I am going to walk at least 12 kilometers a week.

On New Years Eve last year I wrote

The temperature here reached 38.3C (about 100F) so the thunderstorm isn't a surprise. It is still over 30C despite the fact that it is almost 10pm.

A lot cooler this year. It is currently 16C.

It's 2.30 in the afternoon of New Year's Eve here. I'm looking forward to going out for a meal with my husband this evening to celebrate the New Year. My new year's resolutions for 2011 are to lose weight and regain my fitness. More or less my resolutions for the last couple of years. This year I am setting myself SMART targets because they work best for me.

That is how we've celebrated for years now. But this year... son is upstate at his friend's house and the daughter will be out, sleeping at her friend's house. Husband is actually in bed now, sick as a dog. Looks like it will just be me, the dogs and the blu-ray tonight. Good thing i got lots of dvds for Christmas!
