The North American Vexillological Association voted New Mexico's flag the best of any US state, territory, or Canadian province in 2001.

Their top ten were:

1. New Mexico
2. Texas
3. Quebec
4. Maryland (I like this one)
5. Alaska
6. Arizona
7. Puerto Rico
8. District of Columbia
9. Marshall Islands
10. South Carolina

Interestingly, though just one Canadian province or territory made it into the top ten, eight made it into the top twenty-five.
