Happy Birthday (for Sunday), Wil!
I'm one of few who actualy LIKED Wesley (once Season 3 rolled around and he stopped being a punk, that is) so you've got a fan out there!

I really think Wes' change came more in mid Season 2, if not late Season 1. Once he stopped wearing those terrible sweaters and had a uniform.
But when he stopped being the goofy, wide-eyed, immature for someone his age in that time kid he really became a pretty good character.

Wheaton is also someone who makes TNG special, since he connects the fandom to the "product" itself, since he is a Star Trek fan like we are AND was an actor for several years playing a major character on it. I don't recall that any other Trek series has someone like him. On the other shows you mostly have the "It payed my bills"-attitude.

Wil Wheaton's a cool guy to meet in person, too. I've done it twice, and he remembered me the second time.
Still haven't gotten to one of his public readings, but I do have signed copies of his first two books & a signed Wesley action figure.
