Happy birthday, Connor Trinneer - his views on relationships

Regarding Trip and his possible feelings for Archer... by and large, given that LGBTQ is probably pretty much accepted even in the primitive (by Trek standards) 22nd century, I don't see why Trip and Archer wouldn't have acted on their feelings, given that they weren't always in the same line of command. I think they were just really good friends.

On the other hand, I do like the explanation Siddig provided, re him and Garak... if Dax came back as a male, even if nothing happened between him and Bashir, it might at least make him reconsider certain presumptions.

I have no 'gaydar' to speak of, but I honestly have never gotten even the slightest hint of an "attraction" between Trip and Archer.

I always saw them as just crewmates and friends. Yeah, they might have a beer or two at the 602 Club on occasion, but I never even thought they might be a thing.

As for Garak: Didn't Andrew Robinson pretty much admit that he played Garak as gay in his first few appearances? True, TPTB later set him up with Ziyal, but Garak could probably go either way.

Yes he did, especially at first. At some point, reportedly, the showeunners asked him to tone it down a bit.

I never thought Garak was "set up" with Ziyal. At most I thought any non-platonic interest there was one-sided, with Garak looking at Ziyal as more of a kindred spirit and someone he could relate to in a way he couldn't relate to anyone else on the station.
