Happy 25th Birthday Farscape

I watched the first six, so far nothing. But in the "Andromeda" thread they said it does to some arcs and goes somewhere, so I'm still in waiting to see what, if anything, actually happens after six episodes.

I remember my incentive to get through early season weirdness was the first episode I saw was "Into the Lion's Den (Part 2): Wolf in Sheep's Clothing." Where Crais and Talyn blow themselves up in the Command Carrier, and John takes Scorpius on a joyride through a wormhole.. I caught it late at night on SyFy when channel surfing. I had to know what this show was and what this was all about. Never regretted a second.

Stick with it until you at least get to "Nerve" and "The Hidden Memory." They set-up the table for the rest of the series. The first season has its highs and lows, and the rest of the season even does its own table setting, but those two episodes are the ones that truly set the tone of the series from there out.

...coincidentally, those were the first two episodes I saw of the show (and I think out of order, so I was really confused at first) and they really grabbed me. But I maintain that they're very important for the overall show.

Watched another six yesterday, for the first twelve episodes of the show. If this was airing now as a new show, I'd have abandoned it during the first episode, but since it's not and I am told to wait, I'll wait some more.

Not every show works for every viewer, but I really enjoyed Farscape. Like Blake's 7 and Babylon 5, it could at times veer into "do I really need to watch this" territory early on, but it headed into a run of intense episodes that made the initial time investment more than worthwhile. For me, anyway.

Think I lasted the first four on the first go, then picked it around episode 18 or 19 and got hooked. (Since seen it all and have the box set)

Some shows don't work for everyone. I commend @tharpdevenport for sticking with it long past what I would put up with.

I finished season one today. If it wasn't for Scorpio and the play of one baddie superseding another uncomfortably, I can't say there would have been anything to hold me.

Scorpio has screen presence and I get the sense there is more to come from him. I am hoping there is more to it then simple stuff like him and John both wanting the same thing and then a revenge quest.

I don't care for the new member of the cast.

I started season two afterwards.

Yup, Scorpius and his goals were what I was referring to. I'm glad that you like him. I consider him one of the greatest sci-fi villains ever. No exaggeration.
