The show is definitely a little dialogue heavy at times.
It could handle the exposition better, but I think it gets caught up in its flowery dialogue. Regardless, the second half of the season has been a marked improvement over the first half - even though I actually quite liked the first half, as frustrating as it occasionally was. I like Fuller's take on Red Dragon, which presents us with a familiar story but adds some new twists & turns. Richard Armitage pretty much owns the role of Francis Dolarhyde, although admittedly he's had more screen-time than any of the other actors. I really like Rutina Weasley as Reba; she's probably my favorite iteration of the character.
The episode where the Red Dragon hunts for Will's family featured one of the most suspenseful and well-crafted chase scenes I've seen in a show in a while. The last couple episodes have brought back the sense of suspension and thrills that have been missing from the show for a while. Plus, seeing Mads' Hannibal incarcerated has been interesting and not what I was expecting - although it is a bit frustrating to see Alana in the Chilton role. Although, poor Chilton. The guy can't catch a break, even if he's a bit of a snobby douchebag.
One more episode left (aptly titled "The Wrath of the Lamb") and we're done. I'm not sure how to feel. While I feel like Season 3 has been a bit of a mixed bag, I still love the show. It's my favorite interpretation of Hannibal Lecter aside from The Silence of the Lambs. I will be sorry to see it go. Hopefully we'll see these characters (along with these particular actors) again. I hope the show goes out with a bang.
