Hand Gestures

I wonder just how many people even really pay attention to the hand gestures people use. I know I rarely do.

I got a game for you guys, next time you are speaking to someone that appears to not be paying attention, start doing weird things like writing curse words in the air, or playing Patti Cake with no one -- jsut to see if they take note or comment.

my main hand gestures are either an erect middle finger with the rest folded down or a circle between my thumb and my fingers in a gripping fashion, moved up and down repeatedly.

I find myself sitting on my hands at work to keep from accidentally poking clients in the eyeball - I tend to be fairly animated but try to tone it down at work. It's hard, I feel like the emphasis is being leached out of my statements.
