GWAR guitarist and co-producer Cory Smoot, who shredded with the over-the-top metal institution as Flattus Maximus, was found dead on the band’s tour bus [on Nov. 2nd.] Smoot’s age and cause of death were unknown. The band was preparing to head to Canada for the next leg of their tour, and as of this morning, the show in Edmonton, Alberta scheduled for tonight was going to go on as planned.

Normally, I don't post about famous people dying, but I knew Cory personally. Whether or not GWAR is your kind of thing, he was an excellent guitar player, and an even more awesome person. He was one of those "I'm just a regular guy" kind of famous people and was a lot of fun to be around. Also, he thought I was funny. He will be missed by many.
At this point, I don't know any more about his death than anyone else is saying. Although, while the article says his age is unknown, that I know. He was 34.
