Hmm, I can't really see that. As I remember Cooper, the main quality I'd ascribe to him is that he was earnest. He was quirky, but very earnest and sincere and a total Boy Scout. Napoleon Solo was rarely earnest. Vaughn went through the whole series with a wry, impish attitude of being in on the joke and above it all, as though he were just making a game of everything. And he was anything but a Boy Scout; he was as much a womanizer and killer as James Bond, but much more playful and carefree about it than any incarnation of Bond save Roger Moore.

Whilst it might have been nice to say have McCallum as Waverly, I think that they wouldn't want to have any original cast members in anything but a cameo. But they are keeping to the orignal show with a British Head of UNCLE.

I wasn't talking about his qualifications for the part. I was talking about whether he "rocks a suit," as stated above. As I understand it, "rocks" means "wears well" or "looks good in." But it looked to me like he was kind of overstuffing the suit, that he was too muscular to fit into it well. That's got nothing to do with whether he's qualified to play Napoleon Solo or whether the movie will be any good; I was talking about the suit, period.

Armand Hammer as Ilya? I dunno. McCallum brought a serious intensity to the role. There was just something about him that made you not want to mess with him. Hammer is so white bread and boring. And god help them if he doesn't absolutely nail that accent.
