Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime, I really did want to like it but found it lacking on the first viewing.

Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime, I really did want to like it but found it lacking on the first viewing.

It's definitely a tad on the silly side, perhaps in part due to having Emily as a protagonist. And the pace of the movie is fairly rapid, so in some ways I kind of wish the more serious aspects had been given more depth. But I enjoyed it overall.

I will say that, although I'm not overly familiar with Karen's work on programs like Dr. Who, she made a great villain as Nebula in the Marvel films. I think one strength is she has the right sort of range for the role of Sam, someone who's good at heart but perhaps a little broken inside. Who has Scarlet's ruthless killer instinct when she needs it.

Oh, and, Lena Heady leaping off the library reception desk blasting bad guys with guns in both hands to save her little girl? Epic.
