Apparently, Guinan's temporal perception isn't due to the Nexus. It is indeed because of her El Aurian nature.

I've never heard the idea that her perception was due to the Nexus. She clearly demonstrated that ability in Yesterday's Enterprise, for example.

It's a fan theory I've heard before and always thought was a neat retcon (YE was after her time in the Nexus). The idea was that her extra-temporal awareness was due to her connection to her echo in there, but I guess PIC has invalidated that in S2 E4?

But Yesterday's Enterprise took place decades after the Nexus event, the timelines only diverged 20 years before that episode. Of course Generations hadn't been written then but I prefer the Nexus as an explanation to it being an El Aurian thing.
