Guilty Pleasures

There's more than a handful of episodes throughtout TNG that are often knocked or not well liked. Which of these episodes do you like, that are guilty pleasures.

I've been watching-through TNG the past week and am currently in Season 2. Watched "The Royale" this afternoon and I just find this a fun, charming, and humorous episode. I don't know what it is, but I just love it. Yet I often see it knocked around here.

So, do you have any episodes you like that many don't?

(And anyone who names "Sub Rosa" gets put on my ignore list. ;))

I agree on The Royale.
And I like The Naked Now too, because it's funny and I like to see the how the characters act differently. The bigges problem with this episode, IMO, is that it was aired too early, it's a second TNG episode.

Skin of Evil
Pen Pals
Manhunt
A Matter of Perspective
The Most Toys
Menage a Trois
Legacy
Night Terrors
The Host
Disaster
The Game
Rascals
Suspicions
Genesis

I like The Naked Now too, although it's the first (and probably worst) example of Wesley saving the ship -that he had placed in danger in the first place.

I think The Naked Now gets blasted a lot for being derivative of The Naked Time from TOS.

I have to laugh whenever Picard starts to read The Royale on his computer, "It was a dark and stormy night..." I guess "Todd Matthews" was really Snoopy. I also chuckle when Worf opens the nightstand and discovers the journal. I always just want him to open the book he finds and say, "Who are the Gideons, sir?"

Peak Performance

The Vengeance Factor

Remember Me

Cost of Living

The Chase

Inheritance

Thine Own Self

Masks

Another fan of The Royale here. I chose it as the episode theme for this weeks avatar contest. It's nice to see there are other people who like it too. :)

Some of my other favorite guilty pleasures:

Skin of Evil
Rascals
Genesis
Hide and Q
The Child
The Game
Man of the People
Liaisons
Masks

The Royale is probably one of my bottom 5 TNG episodes of all time.

I will admit Sub Rosa is one of my guilty pleasures though...I've always enjoyed it and have rewatched it many more times than a lot of other episodes. Others I would think qualify:

Haven
Home Soil
Skin of Evil
Manhunt
Night Terrors
The Game
Man of the People
Suspicions
Liaisons
Dark Page

^ Sub Rosa is good viewing if only for the fact that it's probably the most beautiful Gates McFadden looked the entire series other then All Good Things.

Oh god, Sub Rosa is sooooo bad, that's it's good.
The fog on the bridge, the planet based on Scotland... not to mention Crusher falls in love with a SPACE GHOST.

I hate it and love it. :bolian:

All of that is good, but my favourite part is still the ubiquitous Ellen Albertini Dow as Nana, being reanimated in the grave and sitting up...makes me burst out laughing every time I see it still.

God. So corny, cheesy and terrible when that happens.

I need to go drink Sub Rosa back out of my brain now.

OK. Sub Rosa. Go ahead, ignore me! No, I'm kidding, that's an awful ep! (That's the one where a "ghost" gives Beverly an orgasm, right?)

My real guilty pleasures are Code of Honor, Time Squared, Q-Pid, Masks, and Night Terrors.

Can't think of too many others.

Red Ranger

I always Like "When Silence has Lease" Ponderous, and interested in ideas. A slow paced episode but it's actually pretty good.

Oh, I forgot that one! To me, it's notable for introducing us to Worf's holodeck monsters program, also used effectively in The Emissary, where we meet K'Ehylar. I love it when Worf goes to work out, and sees someone else is using his program, and he's got a good idea who it is! When she finishes, she turns to Worf, and says, sarcastically, "It's not much of a program." He glowers at her, and simply says, "Computer. Level Two!" Love it! -- Red Ranger

*whispers very quietly* I quite liked Sub Rosa. Space Ghost Lover ftw.

Night Terrors was a pretty good one too, I thought.

*slinks out of thread*

I like a few Season 1 eps that people seem to hate. Its not a guilty pleasure but "Masks" is an awesome and highly underrated episode that people just didn't "get". Night Terrors is also one I am not guilty to like but is also underappreciated.
