Guilty fetish..lazy town

It's on most mid-afternoons in the UK. When I was off work I'd frequently catch it whislt channel-hopping. Freaked myself out when I got 'Always a Way' stuck in my head for days.

As for great TV for kids;

Don't forget The Mysterious Cities of Gold, and Ulysses 31 - absolute classics.

What are some of your guilty kids show pleasures...

Having seen the show with my daughter, I was somewhat horrified to see a thread about someone's fetish surrounding the show :wtf:

But if it's about guilty pleasures then I understand. I do enjoy In The Night Garden because my daughter loves it so much and can't go to bed without her "Peekle" (Iggle Piggle :)). However, I get a kick out of watching the original Willo the Wisp voiced by Kenneth Williams, the Times gave them away for free a while back, which gave me a chance to check it out again :D

Lately, my 8 year old started watching Wizards of Waverly Place, and God help me, it's not that bad.

Though Jimmy Neutron is still among my favorite kid shows I would not have watched if not for my kids.

^What thread bomb?

I posted it like forever ago in the thread bomb thread, and everyone was like 'huh'?
My son used to love that show. Now he's into Thomas, but yeah....songs still stuck in my head.
Hoser, creeping out Ganoosh.

Is there sound to this? It looks hilarious.

I've seen LazyTown, but never really sat down to watch it. I see myself totally able to enjoy it though, especially if I was watching with little ones.

Kim Possible & Avatar: The Last Airbender are major favorites or mine.

I'm not sure i know exactly what you're getting at when you say "guilty" (pleasure) but I assume you mean something that we ourselves enjoy even though it's not targeted at our particular age or social group. Especially if we think others might give us crap for it.

That being the case, I'll add:

-Desperate Housewives
-Grey's Anatomy

They're nothing but Soap Operatic Trash, but I still like to watch them.

Of course, I watch and abnormally large amount and cross section of TV Shows, therefore there would have to be a "bottom of the list".

Well crap, I've been on YouTube the last few days and now I can't get the Bing-Bang or Pirate Song out of my head either.

Lazy Town is Addictive.

My son loves 'Bear and the Big Blue House', and it's actually got some funny things that go over kids' heads. Makes sense since it's a Jim Hensen production.

Guilty "fetish"? Nothing I'm guilty about, but I don't think it's that kind of thread, right? :)

My girls used to love Lazy Town.

I like the positive attitude songs and have them on CD. So any time we're in the van we're singing the songs cause we can do it together.

This is one we don't let the 2-year-old watch. Don't know why, but my wife decreed no Lazy Town, when the 2-year-old was a 6 mo-old, and we've kept to the decree. Backyardigans and SpongeBob. No Dora or Diego, not because we're anti-anything, but because they never talk, THEY JUST FUCKING YELL!

Right now she's taken over the TV and is watching Cinderella III.

I will admit a bit of guilty pleasure in finding SpongeBob amusing and somewhat entertaining.

My son loves Lazytown. He watches it every morning.

My guilty pleasure (actually, not so guilty) is Phineas and Ferb. That's a great show.

And of course, Spongebob is transcendent television.

^
Phineas and Ferb
rocks!

I didn't really think I'd like it at all from the random Disney Channel Previews I happened across and then one day I was caught watching a 10-min pitch for the show that was airing to fill time I guess. I laughed so hard and Perry as a Secret Agent just locked that show in as a good time.

Favorite lines:

Authority Figure: "So aren't you just a little young to be a Construction Engineer...?"
Phineas: "Why yes, Yes I am." *Goes about business*

Yes, Phineas and Ferb is a great show.

Dr. Doofenshmirtz is hilarious.

And poor Candace never gets a break.

Been off work ill for a week. Daytime TV had me tuning into LazyTown and Diagnosis: Murder all the time.

LazyTown is a real grower. [No, not like that, you filthy-minded person, you - ZR] The songs are catchy in particular.
And of course there's the thriving popularity of the show on the Internet.

And as for that cake song...

I say LazyTown for the Eurovision Song Contest! :D :bolian:

I think one of my best qualities as a parent is that I enjoy watching Children's TV - there's a lot better shows on than when I was a kid!

I love Backyardigans and The Wiggles especially. (For all the moms out there who haven't watched the Wiggles before - yes it might be aimed at pre-schoolers, but the Wiggles themselves are four very fit Australian men... :techman:)

my friend's little brother actually got me into Total Drama Island, we were watching him while his mom ran out to get groceries and he was watching it and its actually pretty funny

I watch this show nearly everyday with my kids, and...I like it. I think it comes from Sweden, and its about some crazy town, lazy town, that is like some Abba/Ace of Base alternate reality....

The bad guy is Robby Rotten and he easily steals the show when he is on, but the rest of the show had cute songs for the kids, the best being a song called YOU ARE A PIRATE..look for it on Youtube, it is there...Kind of like HR PUFFINSTUFF meets LIDSVILLE (and I think that actually happened)

What are some of your guilty kids show pleasures...

Change the image to a hotlink. Rob, check out the post at the top of the forum about hotlinking; this is warnable here so don't do it again! Thanks.

ETA: I see it's old (not sure how it got missed), so let's just let it serve as a reminder of the hotlinking rules. ;) :)

It's gotta be Yo Gabba Gabba! The children's show for kids of Gen Xers. My daughters (3, 5 y/o) can't get enough of this show - a heck, when it's on, I'm even tranced by it...
