Guest stars from previous Trek shows... yay or nay?

Would you be happy to see guest stars in the form of previous Trek actors playing different characters, or be repelled by the idea? This doesn't necessarily mean big stars of course, but one-off actors making a return.

I'm generally fine with it as long as the character is written well and isn't shoe-horned in simply so we can say "hey, it's Brent Spiner!" If it feels organic and the story is decent, then why not? It can be enjoyable to see familiar faces in different roles, provided the role has some real meat to it.

If yay... which guest stars are you hankering to see cast on Discovery?

I would like, especially anybody from Enterprise - particularly a certain one that'd give the middle finger to their onscreen, albeit holographic death.

They wanted Michael Dorn in Discovery, which would've been good and proves the Producers wanted a connection beyond recasting Sarek and Mudd. I like to think had that happened, he would've had more than a little influence over the new Klingon make-up... in the same way everyone we saw before owed Christopher Lloyd. Maybe not okay with them being completely hairless.

To clarify, I'm not talking about characters from the former shows, but rather former actors playing different guest characters.

I'm kinda fine with it. It's sort of a Trek tradition. Vaughn Armstrong. Jeffrey Combs. There's actors that could easily play other roles and have in the past. I would prefer new characters though, like how Combs went from Weyoun to Shran in DS9/Enterprise.

Yes, easily. It is a Trek tradition of sorts. Multiple roles for certain actors. Either within one series or across multiple ones.

Even recurring guest stars are cool. Adrienne Barbeau as the Romulan in DS9 was a personal favorite.

I'd welcome any of the vets back in new roles. However, with Disco on a war setting, new species are going to be less common than in exploration Trek.
