News Green Lantern-Inspired Series in Works at HBO Max, From Greg Berlanti

I'm sure there will eventually be a lot of cross-pollination (IE after a year or two of exclusivity on HBO Max, these productions will start popping up on HBO proper).
I hope not. We don't need yet another comic book network. We need more Sopranos and East Bound and Down's. Jason

Well, if this isn't a part of the Arrowverse, I think it would be a mistake. Even if it's on a different Earth, it could be a part of the Arrowverse. There's no reason to limit options. Plus, the Arrowverse is now using Superman, which makes for a great crossover opportunity. And Hal and Barry have always been close friends. I still think David Ramsey would make a terrific John Stewart.

Is it confirmed that its not part of the Arrowverse?

Not to my knowledge. Just speculation in this thread by some. There is no reason to NOT include it in the Arrowverse, especially with the COIE being able to reset things. And even if the COIE doesn't reset things enough, we don't know when this is premiering, and they can use NEXT year's crossover to reset things some more.

I haven't read anything online that suggests this is stand alone, but even if it were, it could be on a different Earth in the same multiverse.

Since Supergirl left CBS, none of the shows not on The CW have been in Arrowverse. Even Titans, which is produced by Greg Berlanti and in terms of style and tone really isn't that far off from the Arrowverse, is not.
Obviously I don't know for a fact that the Green Lantern show definitely won't be, but at this point I'd say the evidence points to no.

Now if Titans appears in Crisis...

In fairness, with infinite earths, all of the shows, even the ones with no crossovers, could appear in the Arrowverse. If you think about it, Flash90, which was created around 20 years before Arrow, is in the Arrowverse. Smallville is in the Arrowverse. Hell, it looks like 1966 Batman may even be in the Arrowverse.

So even without a crossover, it's certainly possible. And it would be smart.

That's actually a good point, I guess it could end up being kind of in the Arrowverse, like those, and Constantine, are. I guess I should say we shouldn't expect it to be a part of the Arrowverse to the same level as the CW shows are.

The NBC Constantine series was set on the same earth as Arrow, The Flash '14, Vixen, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman.

Oh, I know that, I just said kind of since it was a retroactive addition, rather than something that was specific created to be part of it from the beginning.

Yes, NBC's Constantine was retroactively 'grafted' into the Arrowverse, but the key difference between it and shows like Smallville, Birds of Prey, etc. is that it's a "core" Arrowverse show rather than an 'adjacent' one.

Also, the Arrowverse is currently one of the largest, if not the largest, television franchises in history based on the number of series it directly encompasses.

No it's not.

There's also not much to connect it either.

Except for the following:
1) Matt Ryan is explicitly playing the same character in his Arrowverse appearances

2) It is set on the same earth as every Arrowverse series besides Supergirl and Freedom Fighters: The Ray

3) Legends of Tomorrow has brought back the character of Astrid, who, while not directly appearing in the series, was a central aspect of it and John's characterization in it

4) The Arrowverse's producers have explicitly said that the show is directly part of the Arrowverse by way of Matt Ryan

Despite not being created by Greg Berlanti and Co., NBC's Constantine * is * a "core" Arrowverse series and has been treated as such ever since Matt Ryan first appeared on Arrow in the episode "Haunted".

No, it's not.

You're welcome to consider it as such, as there's not much to explicitly prevent it from being headcanoned in, but there's also not much to connect it either, for the obvious reason of it never being the intent when the show was created.

In terms of continuity, Constantine's connection to the Arrowverse is peripheral, yes. But I think what DigificWriter means is simply that Constantine has been retroactively established as taking place on Earth-1, as opposed to Supergirl (Earth-38), the 1990 Flash (Earth-90), and all the other old shows and films whose cast members are appearing in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

It is indeed the intent of the Arrowverse's creators that the John Constantine appearing in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow is the same version of John Constantine who appeared in the NBC series. That's why he wears the same coat, and why they got the same actress who played Astra Logue in Constantine to dub her faked voice in a Legends episode, and cast her adult version as an African-American like in the show. They're limited in what they can directly reference due to the different networks and creators and all, but it's still meant to be the same John.
