Hammond was great and Don S. Davis did a great job portraying him. He was definitely the guy in charge of the base, and he was never a character who was there to cause neverending conflict with the main guys nor was he the character who just sat there, enabled them, and let them run amok. I loved O'Neill, but his season as The Man was a bit of joke. If they had used Jack as more than a non-stop pun maker, he might have worked better that season.

Ok who voted Weir and didn't say?
Hey, at least the Internet has been saved from melting down since there is at least 1 dissenting vote. Surprising to me that it's a vote for Weir, but, to each their own.

If this Poll was instead "Since we all know Hammond would walk away with it, who's second", my vote would likely go to Woolsey on Atlantis.

Well, if we want to discuss runner-ups, for me it's a toss up between Landry and Woolsey. Landry primarily for his personality, Woolsey because he kicked ass when he was in charge of Atlantis. Plus the fact that they turned him awesome when in all his previous appearances on Stargate he was mean to be unlikeable is quite an accomplishment.

Hammond with no contest, he was the best leader as he knew when to be the detached General getting the job done but clearly cared about the people at the SGC.

Hammond!

No surprise he's crushing all contenders. :D

Someone needs to make a dissenting vote, or the Interwebs will melt down. Has there ever been 100% agreement on anything?

Phew, I'm glad someone voted Weir, because unanimity on the internet is one of the Seven Signs of the Apocalypse.
