Greatest Movies of the Decade

Ok, same as my tv. show thread. What are the top movies of the decade from 2000-2010. Let's try to keep a short list of five or ten. My list in no particular order except the first one I know for sure.

Did A.l. artificial intelligence come out this decade? that was great as well.

There are several others, but my mind is blank and I prefer to keep it short.

I already did this for at the end of 2009 and I wouldn't include any of the new movies I've seen in 2010 ("Greenberg", "Toy Story 3", "Inception", "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World", "The Social Network", "Iron Man 2", and "Easy A") as some of the greatest of the last 10 years, but "The Social Network" is a close call and I might feel differently after seeing it again. At the moment, for the best of 2000-2010, I can't think of any past 2008:

Those are just my personal favourites, but I think "Catch Me If You Can", "Requiem for a Dream", "The Wrestler", and "Donnie Darko" are just as great as any on that list.

To the person who started this thread: I really hated that Star Wars movie and I found "Clerks 2" really disappointing as I didn't think there was enough good material there for a whole movie, but "The Hangover" is a solid choice. Definitely one of the best comedies I've seen in the last ten years. Also, "The Boondock Saints" came out in 1999. Fun movie, but a little outside the range of your thread's years.

And if we're going with best scene or moment of the decade - the opening credits sequence of Watchmen, which is so bloody amazing and pergect that there was no way the rest of the movie could possibly top it. Which is a problem, when the best bit of a three-hour flick is the opening sequence - it's all downhill then!

We don't think of 1990 as part of the 1980s.

Unless by "2009-2010" you mean the decade ends when 2010 starts (Midnight on December 31st, 2009), no, that isn't how it works. Otherwise, that's eleven years. The decade is properly 2000-2009.

We don't think of 1940 is part of the 1930s, or 1970 part of the 1960s. They're the start of new decades.
