Great Re-creation of Matt Jefferies Desilu Stage 9 Model

My dream is to make something like this in scale with the Trek action figures from the '90s, with working sounds and LED lights. I got materials together several years ago, but I put the whole project on the shelf as I got busy with other stuff. :scream:

I've had the pleasure of seeing the original in person at EMP; this replica truly does it justice. Beautiful!

Hello to everyone!

I made this model, i think now its about 23 years ago. today its in good shape hanging in front of my modelmaking workshop table and its as fascinating as many years ago.
i used the same materials as matt jefferies used i the 60ies to create an almost similar looking model as jefferies was. also the amount of details are similar to the 60ies model, maybe a bit better.
as i can remember of the fed con 8 art show the first place was a vulcan costume and the third place was a 3d chess. both art show competitors were very well done artwork.
sadly some camers from the fed con 8 staff where stolen so there are no official pictures or videos existing of the art show, the wonderful models and the price-giving ceremony...
if someone has some pictures from the fed con 8 art show models i would be very glad to see some of them. :-)

i hope you enjoy my model and i think about further interesting models...

My friend over at hobbytalk has done just that; an amazing bridge replica at 1/10 scale complete with lighting. You can check it out here:

The photos of the original model are my favourite part in the TOS Sketchbook. You made a wonderful upgrade of Jeffries' set model" Great work! :techman: I don' know the winner of the contest but yout recreaton should have earned 1st place too.

The 1/10 scale Enterprise bridge is also a piece of art.

I just saw the real McCoy at the MoPop museum in Seattle two days ago. This model is probably more detailed than the original (especially the bridge consoles). Though the color looks different... but that may just be lighting/camera stuff.

Seeing the original made me want to build my own replica of it, too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of that!
