Great Moments in TrekBBS History!

I may be alone in this, but I kind of miss Anton, aka The God Thing (and numerous others). Yea, he was a troll, and yea, he was kinda self important, but man sometimes he could make me laugh. Hey, it takes all kinds.

A lot of things, one could forgive, but the dude had a soft spot for the Nazis. Kind of hard to overlook that.

I have to say I was unaware of that facet of his personality. If true, then my apologies for bringing him up.

He also claimed to have security clearance (was working at NASA or something) so you have wonder how his tastes for prostitutes and nazis didn't run up a few red flags.

I remember he was talking about working as an aeronautical engineer for a California based company (suspected at the time to be Lockheed) back around the end of 2000 beginning of 01. And I think he commented around 04 or so that he was going to Germany for a work related job.

I haven't heard from Toronto Trekker in a while. One other fun regular poster that comes to memory is Sheniferous. He was one of the few Asian guys that I knew of around here.

I also remember some kind of Trek BBS Anchor Desk website which had a directory of members, along with personal profiles.

He did try to seduce Campbell Brown, though.

At least that's the story we're going with.

And for those who weren't around when this happened, or didn't catch it up-thread the Shatner/Twilight Zone reference said by Squiggy up there was done at OUR insistence!

And, yeah, he totally charmed Campbell Brown into some moistness there.

I didn't remember that about him either and perhaps I shouldn't be prolonging the agony. But you can't help but snicker at denial of anything not TOS Seasons One/Two or TMP.
"Turd Season, dude. Never happened."

So, where does Tachyon Shield/All Seeing Eye/whoever else fall on the list? (Was he also Fire?) Pyramids to space. Hollowed-out asteroids. 2012 and an infamous promise. I think my involvement in those debates were the closest I came to a TrekBBS Great Moment.

Anyone remember tri and his real-life WIP Enterprise?

YES. "Serious proposel regarding ship." He wanted to build a life-sized replica of the Enterprise-B in the desert, and get Bill Gates to help pay for it.

And then he was banned, but suddenly here was this guy SOLOMON who was a little interested in the ship, but his main thing was telling everyone about "blood electrification therapy" being used to cure HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. And no matter how much evidence I brought to Lisa that they were one and the same, she refused to ban the little shit! :p

I wasn't the first to ever write it, but I did have the privilege of calling out one of his duals with "tri, tri again." :D

I call it a WIP Enterprise because he figured they could retrofit it with warp drive and other systems as they were invented. Didn't remember about Bill Gates, but I do recall that he wanted to put a casino inside to help it pay for itself while sitting in the desert.

Oh, yeah. Tacky's a memorable poster alright. For all sorts of entertaining (and deeply disturbing) reasons.

There's a longstanding rumor that some of us miss him. :shifty:

Never apologise. TGT had the best smackdowns in the history of the board. He could render the most garrulous poster speechless with his unblinking brutality. Being a white supremacist isn't the worst thing we've had on this board.

He does work in the space industry in some capacity but I know not what.

According to those in the know, he's back as Into Darkness

Yeah, he thought the B was the best design in 40+ years of Star Trek ships. Further proof the guy was missing a few screws.
