Great Moments in TrekBBS History!

(Cooleddie and me being on top.)

There's a wacky comedy coming out this summer based on our videos. They straight-washed us, though replacing us with a traditional male/female couple. Cameron Diaz plays me.

I remember a time when I would click on the Mark Forums Read button and no matter how many times I clicked, there was always something new. This place was really busy 12+ years ago!

Also, what ever happened to the Top50 list? It showed the the tope users on the site by posts. Some people were insanely high!

It's not with a direct link or anything, but you can still see it.

Click on "Community" on the top bar above, select "Members List."

You'll get an alphabetical (non-alphanumeric characters first, followed by numbers) listing of the members.

Click on "Search Members" on the right of the screen.

"Advanced Search"

Don't enter any data, scroll to the bottom to the drop-down menus. Change "User Name" to "Post Count" and the other one to "Descending Order."

So I did that, and it brought up a question: what ever happened to Temis the Vorta? She always had the coolest avatars. She just stopped posting...

That was a worry because it was an abrupt disappearance :(

That's because Cameron Diaz plays everybody. :borg: ;)

I'm 6th on that post count list. I still remember when I had 5 posts, way back in 2002, and I wondered who in the heck could talk enough to post something 64,000 times.

Last time I heard from her was in one of the SciFi Fantasy Forum threads. I spend more time over there as well.

There was a 'where is temis' thread about a year ago:

http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=213952

I wonder if Jinx-01 succeeded in contacting her?

I missed that the first time around.

I hadn't really noticed until I looked up the top post counts, and saw she's 5th all-time. Only then did I realize I hadn't seen her around. Her last post was unremarkable. Nothing to indicate she was leaving.

It does seem kind of strange that you'd post so much for so long and then just stop, but that's not really any of my business. Best wishes to her.

She posted in one of the forums not all that long ago so she hasn't been gone for very long. Hopefully she's okay and just busy with more important things.

Seemed much more recent than that. Hopefully she's okay and just taking a deliberate break. Every once in a while one of us just hangs it up for a good long while to focus on more important things.

Indeed. I lurked for ... probably the majority of my time here. Until recently.

I'm not surprised she just up and left. IIRC - while a prevalent poster - she never seemed to get involved in the social side of things.

I miss the old IRC #TrekBBS chat room. Good times.
Which network was that on?
Gimme a few days. I still have old chatlogs and they might contain the settings as well. It'll just take me a bit to find them.

Has anyone seen Further lately? Last time I saw him was a few years ago. I liked him. Very nice guy.

And did you notice that way back then Che and Lisa vanished from the net at exactly the same time? Could they have eloped together? :D

Yesterday was my ten year anniversary! I signed up on July 1, 2004 under my original username, YeahMe. I gave absolutely no thought to it because I wasn't expecting to post at all, I just wanted to lurk around Miscellaneous, which was closed to non-members at the time. That not posting thing didn't last long...

I can't believe it's been an entire decade. It feels like so much has changed, but then again it hasn't. I have donned one of my original avatars in commemoration.

I also can't believe it took this entire time for me to start watching Voyager.

I love you TrekBBS family!

Congrats! I think I even remember your original username.

I've been here for 12 years this month, I signed up to discuss the then-upcoming Star Trek Nemesis and the first season finale of Enterprise. Jeez, I am such an old person now. :borg:

According to my profile I'm around a week off 13 years, but I think that's off by a year at least. Unless I spent that long lurking.

Happy anniversary! =)

But did you have eyes for her? I think you have quite different preferences.
Besides, you're such a darling that you could always have your pick among all of us ladies (and I daresay quite a few of the gentlemen) here :adore:. This bit about you flaming and being annoying is surely a lie!

... :wtf:

Well, I'm intrigued!

I was a shocking pain in the arse. One of my first threads was "Will l I Be The First Rear Admiral?" Back then, no one had hit the 4000 post mark. I was determined to beat Rob Hal, but lost. We both littered Misc. (chair throwing thread!) with all sorts of nonsense.

I stand by what I said a decade ago; I learned more here, being a smartypants among some truly educated people (philosophers, nuclear physicists), than I ever did at high school. When you're 18 and these sorts annihilate your argument ... You learn you're not as smart as you think you are. When I was a fervent poster I religiously had dictionary.com open in another tab.

I would be someone else entirely without this place. For all the changes in life, this has been a constant.

I remember you most from the Confession thread by Holdfast a couple of years back.

I've been here since the series finale of Voyager (which is what, since 2001?) I remember randomly posting my two cents about the episode in one of the forums, not realizing how things worked back then.
