Overall, I felt that this was more what a Fringe ep should be like. I rated it 'Good'.

I agree. This is the first episode that I really felt like a "Fringe" episode. Pacing was good, kept my intrest until the final credits rolled. I wish we had a "very good" rating because this was better than good in my book.

We also had the gas station in Vermont which had a sign "Newhart Gas". Bob Newhart had a series called "Newhart" set in Vermont where his character and wife ran an inn.

It was the most creative and interesting thing in the episode.

The show had less Olivia, hence was more watchable. The suggestion that Peter's back means the universes need saving again is a really backhanded way of undoing the climax of last season. This third version of Walter is competently portrayed by John Noble but rather tedious. The urge to rewrite characters as lovable because you've gotten to like them over the years seems natural but doesn't lead to good results. This Walter is pretty much wholly Noble. The refusal to acknowledge that Peter is a character who might be interested in his mother is also a problem here. For one, DNA testing of alternate Elizabeth and Walter would conclusively prove Peter is somehow exactly who he says he is.

I've thought about that, although there's kind of a thin line between 'excellent' and 'very good'. Let me think about this week, perhaps we'll try changing up the poll again on the 11th.
