SG-1 4/5

It became a joke around the 9th and 10 season with Vala. Everyone in the galaxy knew about SG-1. Even some of the bad guys joked with SG-1.

SG-A - 3/5

The characters felt like cartoon characters. It didn't take itself seriously. It also had some bad episodes like the Richard Kind one where everyone was under a spell.

The rotating commanding officers thing was terrible. Samantha barely did anything. Then she got replaced by Woosley.

Judging by Stargate Universe episodes, he's no longer in charge of Atlantis.

SG-U 3/5

Cut down before it even settled in.

In some aspects it was the "Enterprise" of the franchise. Setting out to do something different but cut down too early.

The moment the concept was revealed people branded it "BattleStar Galactica" lite

In some ways it was(Lame romantic subplots, grittier atmosphere, shaky camera approach)

SG1- 5/5. SG1 will always have a special place in my heart. It was a fun show that was very consistantly interesting and entertaining. It rarely produced an episode for me that I said, "God, let's never do that again!". My biggest disappointment was towards the end when O'Neill just became a running joke/ non-stop smartass. In the first 6-7 seasons, his comedy was used very effectively and it fit well. By 8, he was used for nothing except comedy. I rather liked seasons 9-10. It did become a little overly silly in some aspects, but I loved the idea behind the Ori and I liked how the Ori felt like a real threat. I am disappointed that they didn't get one last season. The Ark of Truth was a pretty good movie, but I would have liked to see them get some time to wrap the Ori story up. The Ark felt like exactly what it was: a super weapon that came out of nowhere because they needed to wrap the story up in two hours or less.

SGA- 3/5. It had a few brilliant flashes, but it never really caught me. It was trying too hard to be an SG1 copy and they ditched the concept of being on their own way too quickly. To be honest, by the end I was only watching it because it was Stargate and because it wasn't bad. Other than that, I had pretty well lost interest.

SGU- 4/5. I enjoyed this a great deal. It was the stranded idea done correctly, or at least better. I enjoyed the character dynamics, especially the stuff between Young and Rush. It was definitely a little slow to develop, but once it hit its stride, it was pretty good. Disappointed with this one ending.

That was a pretty big fault for me, I think it would have worked better if they would have just replaced Weir with Woosley right away instead of having a year with Sam.

Also since Atlantis is still on Earth it is under the direct control of Homeworld Command, that is as far as we know right now. We don't know who the sitting CO is or whether or not Atlantis has taken over Cheyenne Mountain's role as the SGC (it doesn't have to since we can bypass the Gamma-gate override protocol).

SG-1: 3.5/5 (rounded up to 4/5 for the purposes of the poll)
SGA: 2.5/5 (rounded up to 3/5 for the purposes of the poll)

No comment on SGU since I only watched a few episodes.

SG-1 (A) Seasons 2-5 and 7 are especially awesome.
SGA (C) Season 1 is REALLY good, but it's all downhill from there
SGU (C) Five or six really good episodes and a bunch of filler

i gave SG! 5 out of 5...it was a fun show to watch, and created some good mythology ...giving us the G'ould culture, which gave plausibility why such a technologically advanced race could get beat by ancient Egyptians. The Replicators were pretty interesting too, though the Ori felt to me like "Christianized" G'ould.

SG Atlantis just seemed like a cheap version of SG-1, with villagers looking like Dark Ages Europe instead of Egypt. i rated it a C, despite some good stuff (like Rodney McKay). Also missed opportunities & lack of charactization (see thread on Ford, Teyla, etc.)

SG-U i also rated a C, mainly due to season 1. To me, it failed to logically connect with the previous SG series (i.e. did any of the expedition work on Atlantis or an SG team), with (to me) ridiclous connections to Earth (the Stones, Lucian Alliance). The last half of Season 2, but just came too late for the show to be saved (minding me of the recent Flash Gordon TV show -- had they used the 2nd of the season & not showed the 1st half, we would see more seasons of Flash Gordon).

i agree about Woosley, but i think it was a contract thing that obliged them to have Sam...and how could she be anything less than base commander on Atlantis?

SG-1 : A
SGA : C
SGU : B
Fav: SG-1

SG-1 is easily my favourite. Great cast and adventures.

SGU can in second because it won me back and I liked some of the characters in the end, which made me want it to continue.

SGA is last in my books. The characters I cared for the least of the lot. When I heard it was coming to an end unlike the other two I didn't lament the news, which I think was the most telling thing about how I felt about the show.

Well, there was that whole pesky thing about Atlantis being a civilian-run operation...
