no I would be against such a recast, I think with Nimoy involved they need to stick to the original more than ever, so changing a characters gender wouldn't be right (if it can ever be right ? )

I reckon when they run out of time to cast him, they will just cast of of the two guys from Heroes.

no I dont want Daniel Dee Kim as Sulu, hes been in too many TV shows already, and im pretty sure hes already been in Trek more than once.

they just need to get Zoë Saldana a brief guest stint on Heroes, possibly as the sister of whichever character Nichelle plays the mother of.

same for Nimoy, a brief cameo nothing more.

I doubt it takes any more energy and/or creativity to do one than it does to do the other.

^ Indeed. Changing a main character's gender would require a total rewrite of the character, basically on the level of adding a new character.

Nimoy is playing Spock as an incentive to shut up/placate the old fans.

That's no guarantee as to whether it's a prequel or a reboot or whatever...
