GR’s Big Acting Break!

Spock's Barber

Famous British director Alfred Hitchcock usually made cameo appearances in his movies, so that got me to thinking…what if GR did the same in one of TOS episodes?

I know he did a voiceover in Charlie X (“Real Turkeys!”), but now I’m talking an actual screen shot of GR. It could have just been a background redshirt, a planet inhabitant, an alien in full makeup, etc.

I’m thinking GR as a Klingon, partially disguised but still easily recognizable as The Great Bird of the Galaxy.

Your thoughts on where you would have liked to have seen GR on film?

It might've been poetic justice if he was cast an agonized Morg in SPOCK'S BRAIN, serving the needs of angry women....

My very first thought was one of these dudes, too.

According to Memory Alpha, Gene

"... can also be heard (along with Majel Barrett and other production people) in the background intercom chatter in "Where No Man Has Gone Before" (and subsequent episodes reusing the same sound tracks)."

The 'shopped image of Gene as Robert April that appeared in The Star Trek Encyclopedia can be found here.

I can see G.R. as Gorgan the Friendly Angel from "And the Children Shall Lead." He certainly couldn't have done a worse acting job than Melvin Belli.

Jack Ruby's defense attorney had chops. Unfortunately they weren't in the department of acting.
