Got an iMac and 400 cds to "import"

I would say make a copy of everything to an external HD so that when you get a new PC and want to transfer them over (or if your Mac crashes), you don't have to burn them again.

I figure that after I have them on the new iMac, I'll copy them all externally to a backup.

And thanks everyone for the advice. I have so much to learn to really use this system.

^ When you do a Get Info on an entire album, there should be an area set aside to paste the artwork into.

You can also just drag an image straight from Safari right onto the 'Artwork' section in iTunes.

Thought I'd point that out since I know some people's first thought is "save image to desktop," "import image into iTunes," & finally "erase image from desktop" which, of course, is a big time waster.

Well, google images was just as simple. I did the "get info" method; it didn't seem to want to drag into the artwork section. Probably doing something wrong. New to this.

52 albums / 5.16 GB down. A bunch to go.

It's going in aac format automatically. That'd likely end up around 60GB total or so.

Is that a lot? Even if it is, we got 1 TB of memory, so it's not like we're gonna fill up.
