Death from the Phage doesn't sound too pleasant either.

Salt Monster...not really sure what was going on there...but it looks like this thing sucked salt right out of your body....have no idea what that is like..

Looks kinda like having a hundred giant hickeys all over your body, delivered by a powerful vacuum cleaner's hose attachment.

I suppose it might depend on how one's imagination dresses it up, how you like your Salt Monster. Crewman Darnell, for example, saw her as an entertainment he once had on Wrigley's Pleasure Planet.

This mental exercise didn't seem to work for Kirk, though.

What are some of the 'ways of death' you would want

Well, the Kelvan method of zapping people down into chalky dice seems pretty quick and painless. Then again, it's not like one can hear dice scream. It might be a bitch, from their perspective, being crushed to powder like that.



There's always disintegration. Seems to me that high-powered phaser deaths in TOS were pretty much clean and instant. In latter-day movies and tv sequels, victims might writhe and scream as their bodies burned away.
