We've lost so many people this year, and now, here's another:

Marcia Strassman, a film and television actress, died on Saturday at age 66. According to Deadline, Strassman had been fighting breast cancer for the last seven years.
Strassman was a journeyman actress who got her first big break with a recurring role as Nurse Cutler on M*A*S*H. She played Julie Kotter for four years on beloved ’70's sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter. She went to to play the mother in the movies Honey, I Shrunk The Kids and Honey, I Blew Up The Baby.

Here's the reunion of the cast a while back:

That poor woman; seven years? She put up a good fight. I always liked her as "Mrs. Kotter," but I really liked her on M*A*S*H.

I just recently saw her in the M.A.S.H. episode where they were making "Yankee Doodle Doctor". I liked her in everything I saw her in. Rest in peace.

I've been watching Welcome Back, Kotter on MeTV. She was a good foil for Gabe Kaplan.

Rest in peace, Ms. Strassman

So sad to think we'll never see Marcia Strassman in anything again. When I was a kid I thought she and Suzanne Pleshette were the greatest TV wives ever; smart, funny and pretty, Strassman was money in the bank wherever she appeared. There were a lot of things I liked her in, but for some reason the first thing that came to mind was this short film by Harry Shearer from the 1985 "David Letterman Film Festival." Working with the Spinal Tap guys for this project says a lot about her comic abilities:

^ Definitely. I had a crush on her during Welcome Back Kotter.

I love her from her few M*A*S*H appearances since I have those DVD's and really enjoy the early episodes.
