Goodbye Leno/Hello Conan

You see Conan's background when he does his monologue?

It's actually.... SUPER MARIO BROS!!!!

Ha ha, I wouldn't be surprised if he brought this up one of these days. It's just too good to pass up. :D
I never would have noticed that the backdrop was special had it not been for the above post which I read earlier. They even brought it up in the monologue. Didn't think they actually would.

I hate to say this, but I don't think I'll follow Conan's version of the show. I liked Leno because he was an easygoing everyman type. Conan's funny, but just a bit too weird for my tastes.

And I bloody well can't stand Andy Richter. :brickwall:

That being said, I hope Leno's new show lasts (and that he keeps Kevin Eubanks), but I wouldn't hold my breath.

^^ Oh Herbert, you are stiff!

You're just NOW realizing this?

I do have conservative tastes in comedy and stuff like that, although I wasn't one of those "This show sucks without Carson" types (I did enjoy Johnny's tenure, though). I just don't really care for Conan's style.

But more importantly, is there ratings info on how Jimmy Fallon is doing? I really wonder if he's crashing and burning or what.

He's far from burning at the moment. For the first weeks, he did good and was at the top, even topping Conan. But then the ratings started going down, and now he just bellow what Conan used to get - but he's doing way better on-line. However, the program is getting very good ratings at the 18-49 key demographic, both male and female. More, he is also scoring big with teenagers, including females.

As for Conan's ratings up until Thursday, he basically destroyed the competition, as it was expected.

Anyway, I've only seen the first three shows, but I like it already. The old Conan is all there, only perhaps more polished and planned.

I always liked Jay, and will no doubt see his new program - unless it sucks. But the new Tonight show is excellent.
