Goodbye Leno/Hello Conan

It wasn't a bad show but I've always loved Letterman so it wasn't a big loss or anything. I look forward to seeing Conan, I'll definately be watching on Monday night to see how he does.

I just read that Andy Richter is going to be Conan's announcer, which is cool. It also said that they're keeping some of Conan's old bits, like "The Year 2000."

Well the year 2000 is safe, however there is no way NBC will let the masturbating bear air at 11:30... I just find it stupid, but that's nbc

I think he's going to do just fine.

Leno was and always shall be a pitifully unfunny man, and I'm happy to finally see Carson's spot go to someone who might actually be able to run with it.

Leno wasn't bad, but he wasn't that revolutionary. Very vanilla.

Being a Conan fan, I'm looking forward to him next week.

As for Fallon, well, give him time. I watched his first couple of shows and he looked so nervous it was hard to watch. He has the potential to turn out to good. It can also end in disaster. We'll see. After all, Conan really sucked his first few years that it is amazing that he is still on.

Man, it's hard to believe Conan's been in the game that long. I remember way back when O'Brien did it and it referred to the future.

Actually I read somewhere (AICN?) that the masturbating bear IS going to 11:30!

Conan?? Conan makes me gag.

Who made that bone headed choice?

Craig Ferguson is light years ahead of Conan.

Can't wait to see Conan tomorrow night. I was never a huge fan of Leno, but I don't hate the guy. To me, Jay was an overall nice guy - the type you could invite to your hose for dinner or just to hang out with. He had a very casual and relaxed style of comedy. He's never really made me laugh out loud all too much, but Conan does every night.

Although, Jay has his moments. Thursday's show, one of his jokes bombed and he says, ''Ohhhhhh, I'm scared! I got one night left!'' Then I think it was on his last night, Kev Eubanks tried his hand at a joke and forgot it midway through, so Jay yells over to him, "Yeah, it's not so easy, is it!"

It's been three months without Conan. I'm tired of waiting!

Yeah, I miss Conan. I'm really glad he's back. I like Leno. He's very amiable. He doesn't make me laugh like Conan does but he definitely has that casual, relaxed nature about him that's enduring.

I wonder if they'll let Richter anally rape Tinky Winky at 11:30pm.

So glad Richter's back.

I didn't watch a lot of Late Night, but - don't tell me they did a skit with Andy Richter doing bad, bad things to the Teletubbies...

I keep reading different articles. Some say MB will be back, some say he won't. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This was quite a few years ago, obviously because Richter was still there and the Teletubbies were popular, but it remains my favourite, most hilarious and shocking moment on Conan's show.

It was during the controversy of some Republican nutjob, can't remember who, saying that the purple Teletubbie named Tinky Winky was gay and a bad influence on our children. Conan had Tinky on to ask him if he was gay, who shook his head to deny it.

After the commercial break, Conan mentions that there's a hidden camera in Tinky's dressing room and let's look in and see what he's up to.

It cuts to security camera type footage of Andy, pants around his ankles, forcibly bending Tinky over the couch and totally giving it to him!

It was so funny, and just so wrong!

:guffaw:

Not on the couch, though. Just as the announcer.

Andy said he's involved in a lot of the bits and segments. Also, when they come back from the first break, there will be lots of back and forth between them.

I'm pleased to hear about this. They have great chemistry.

I've missed Conan over the past few weeks; I can't wait to see him tomorrow. He's much better than Leno. The only negative about him taking over the Tonight Show is that he's now competing directly with Stephen Colbert.
