Goodbye, Fritz Weaver

See also THE TWILIGHT ZONE, DEEP SPACE NINE, CREEPSHOW, and THE LEGEND OF LIZZIE BORDEN . . . and those are just some of his more notable credits . ....

I actually saw him in the wild once, strolling down the sidewalk outside my old Greenwich Village apartment.

He was on an early episode of Law & Order where he played a rich businessman who has a guy mugged to "donate" a kidney for his ailing daughter.

I'll never forget what Ben Stone said to the daughter (who doesn't want her dad prosecuted because she thinks he's not a violent man) at the end of the episode:

"Do you really think your father would have acted any differently, if you had needed a heart instead of a kidney?"

Oh, how sad. I just watched Twilight Zone's Third From The Sun on Thanksgiving. R.I.P Mr. Weaver. Thank you for the decades of acting and entertainment. You will be missed, Sir.

So many great performances, and an unforgettable face. Fail-Safe is the first one I think of, so good as the proud and ashamed colonel. Sorry to hear he's gone.
