Goodbye Channel 4?

im not overly impressed by this, I dont see what me the viewer gains by this, more to the point what happens with shows that are on both C4 & E4/More4, C4 only owning 50% of those channels sounds crazy.

Who said they would be giving up ownership on any of those channels?

as I understand this, 4 WorldWide will own E4 & More4.

4 World Wide will be jointing owned by BBCWW & C4.

so C4 only own half of E4 & More.

Channel 4 and BBC worldwide are not merging, they're partnering on their digital channels. Pooling resources, etc.

yes by creating a new company, 4WorldWide, which the will each own 50% of.

4WorldWide will have E4 & More 4, along with channels like Dave (and some of BBCWW non TV interests)

I would also like to know what Virgin has to say about the fact it suddenly shares Dave (etc) with 4WorldWide & not BBCWorldwide.

Where does it any any of that?

a BBC spokesperson confirmed, noting that a full merger of BBC Worldwide with Channel 4 was not on the table.

Is Channel 4 digital a separate company?
It used to be, Channel 4 created a company, 4Ventures, to run their profit making channels but I believe since they all left pay TV and went free-to-air it reverted back to Channel 4.

Thanks for the link, Wamdue. Why do digital spy only have that little information when it looks like so much more is available.
But that article does seem speculative. I remember there was speculation before that if they did merge 4 and worldwide then they would by Virgins 50% stake in UKTV.
