Good news for ABC comedy fans!

The Middle, Modern Family and Cougar Town have all be renewed.

Better With You was not included however TVbytheNumbers.com explains it very well...

Far more interesting, but perhaps not very surprising is ABC’s interest in a second night of comedy. It makes a lot of sense to me especially considering ABC’s failure at launching new one hour dramas. When one hour dramas fail, it’s a more expensive failure.

So Better With You might still have a chance, plus it looks cheap to make.

ABC dramas in recent years have sucked, badly, but their comedies have been doing OK. I'm fine with more comedies however this probably means the break up of the ABC Comedy Wednesday and that can lead to dropping ratings.

Grey's a Whore, the spinoff and Castle also have been renewed too.

I'm not a fan of The Middle and definitely not a fan of Cougar Town, but I really love Modern Family, it really makes me laugh out loud. Glad to see it got renewed, though it's no surprise with how well it's been doing.

Well Modern Family was never going to get canceled. Honestly I think it's hugely underrated.

Nah we don't need another thread on how bad V is. However this does go into that. V was the only scripted drama from ABC that made it to a second season, I think PP and Castle were the only ones from their years too. ABC dramas are a joke so why not have more comedies?

Well Modern Family was never going to get canceled. Honestly I think it's hugely underrated.

And I still think it's hugely overrated. I'm happy for The Middle and Cougar Town, and I hope Better With You gets a pick-up as well. Comedies has been ABC's strength as of late and it's good to see them recognising this. I was especially worried for Cougar Town after its spring hiatus was announced...

The Middle is still the best family show on prime-time, even if a bit repetitive from week to week, and Better With You is really funny for a classic multicam sitcom, mostly thanks to a stellar cast.

I started on Cougar Town because after Scrubs, Bill Lawrence has earned a lifetime pass from me. That said, I have come to REALLY love the ensemble in this show. They have a very natural feeling chemistry, teamed with (IMHO) good-to-very good writing. I find most weeks I enjoy this more than the also very funny Modern Family.

Cougar Town has a really good cast, the casting pople of the ABC comedies did a great job, even Better with You has a great cast even if the fanbase isn't as great.

And to be fair, Better With You has the same demo and only a million less people than The Middle, so it's not that bad, it's just not as good.

Best comedies on TV, The Middle, Raising Hope, Community. But after that I would say Cougar Town, but it's just a show no matter how much I try I just don't care. The characters are good, they feel like a family, I just can't care about the show and rarely laugh.

Nope. It's just with the exclusion of Modern Family (which is the funniest show on TV), those shows all suck except for The Middle which is just mediocre and a rehash of another show with the words "the middle" in the title.

Cougar Town renewed.. hot diggity!

I love it.. behind Big Bang Theory, How i Met your Mother and Chuck it's my favorite comedy series.

I love the wacky things they do and how it is played so naturally like a bunch of people who've known each other for decades (plus.. Courtney Cox still is very hot for someone beyond 40).
