Good multi-protocol IM program?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good multiprotocol IM program that supports at least AIM, ICQ, MSN and gchat; that logs chat transcripts; and that has good file transfer support? I am using Trillian right now, but that's archaic and doesn't support gchat. What do other people use?

Trillian Pro supports gchat, but you have to shell out money first. A free alternative for Windows would be Pidgin and for Mac, I recommend Adium.
