Goldeneye: Reloaded

Have you even tried to play GoldenEye 007 recently? It plays like ass.

i had this problem with the re-release of Perfect Dark... man, games have progressed a lot since then. I couldnt believed i managed to playthrough it on the n64.

if i wasnt lost, i was unsure of where to go. if i did know where to go, i was probably confused as to how to get there.

and PD was supposed to be the better game... i dont want to go back to Goldeneye. it was a fun game for the time, i doubt it has aged well at all.

The only thing that surprises me about this announcement is that everyone is suggesting it's a version of Goldeneye for PS3 and XBOX, isn't it logical then that there would also be a PC version in the making too? It is Activision after all...

Just completed Goldeneye on the Wii and it was a rip roaring ride of a game.....i enjoyed it immensely.

To each their own I guess.

Damn.....I was hoping Goldeneye: Reloaded would be a remake of the actual N64 game. That looks more like they simply upped the graphics of the Wii game.

To be honest I always expected this. That is, either a port of the Wii to PS3 & XBOX or just a port over to the 3DS. I never felt in my mind that Rare, Microsoft, Activision and Nintendo had all agreed on bringing the classic 64 game back in a way that would suit them all financially. The aforementioned parties have had discussions in the past on this for mediums such as the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console service, but as expected it fell through.

I never played the Wii version, i'm sure there's more to it than a re-skinned COD.

Sadly....that really is all it is. I actually found it rather dull and boring. Lacking in any of the magic that made the N64 version so awesome. Everything was just....paint by the numbers.

As much as I enjoyed Goldeneye DS, I couldn't help it feel at times that N-Space took a "cookie-cutter" approach to the game given how its feel resembled that of the COD titles on the DS. There were some great moments and the multiplayer was fun, but just some of those interactive moments from the original were lacking. What ever happened to holding the guard at gun point while walking him to the terminal, keeping the target focused on his back?

Then there's the laser watch. I realise that all of this was intentional to capture the modern, gritty feel of the Daniel Craig era, but why not just make a game focused on one of his films rather than strip Brosnan of his legacy that was attached to Goldeneye?

The Quantum of Solace game was a rush job on all platforms. They easily could have made a game just as iconic as Goldeneye by making a Casino Royale game. It would have been amazing. Driving missions, shooting, hand to hand combat, a whole section devoted to the poker scene, the pursuit of Vesper in Italy, it would have been incredible. Instead, we got the highlights of two films condensed into some gameplay that was exemplarily formulaic.

Yeah, I think i missed the watch most of all. That and the multiplayer for one reason or another just did not click with me. The levels just didn't seem to be nearly as well thought out and well, I was just really disapointed with the game as a whole.

Holy shit, it must be the apocalypse, for the rights for this to get sorted out!
Not really - this is an HD port of last year's Wii game, not an HD port of the original N64 game (Microsoft & Activision & Eon were able to work everything out; Nintendo is the sole holdout keeping this from happening).

The game sounded better before the trailer came out.

this is just re-releasing last years game with better better graphics.

Reminds me of a line from Tron Legacy

Alan Bradley: Given the prices we charge to students and schools, what sort of improvements have been made in Flynn... I mean, um, ENCOM OS-12?

Richard Mackey: This year we put a "12" on the box.

The absence of a 3DS port is a waste of potential. Although, given that the Playstation Vita (the rival handheld) is due later this year, maybe Activision are going for a handheld release next year for both platforms just as they did this year for XBOX and PS3.
