Golden Voyage of...

Sinbad. You can currently see this movie, from 1974, on NETFLIX streaming.

We watched this because my son, five year old, really loves to try and read ancient writings. He gets a kick out of it; Indian Jones kind of thing. So I remembered this movie having a bunch of ancient tablets in it, so we got it to watch..and hey..its not that bad of a movie. Not great, mind you, but for old stop-motion FX, it isnt half bad. And the chic, the one with the eye on her hand, is pretty hot looking in a "star trek" 60's kind of way.

The movie follows Sinbad as he tries to unite three pieces of an amulet, and trying to stop the evil magic dude who is trying to do the same thing. My kids liked it, especially since the comic relief comes from a teenager who bares an uncanny likeness to 1980s Michael Jackson.

Good movie..two thumbs up for family fun..

It's a GREAT movie Caroline Munro looks incredible and Tom Baker was awesome as Koura the villain. The fight with Kali was a real highlight.

Yes..the battle sheva was great. Thanks for mentioning that...even though it is stop motion, it comes off great. We just ordered Sinbad's Eye of The Tiger, via netflix..cant wait. I actually remember seeing that one too in the theatres...

I have fond memories of this movie, too. Indeed, as I recall, I once owned the comic book adaptation AND the movie novelization!

By the way, Greg, my son loves to do JLA roll calls, one each week, for his shelf. He has at least, and I am not kidding, over two hundred action figures, including your wife's Hakwman. Well..her hawkman is part of these week's roll call of action figures...Superman (Earth two) Green Lantern (hal) Hawkman (Earth one minus the ears) Batman (Aparo version) Flash (Jay) and Sunboy (legion)

Aparo Batman, Jay Garrick Flash, AND a Legionnaire? Your son has good taste in super-heroes!

yes...he does. Jim Aparo had this real cool way of drawing the Batman symbol on Batman. My son and I compete, every day, to see who can draw it. My son is winning!!!

Our big thing now is going to be reading the BLACKEST NIGHT series, and the tie-in comics. We got the list of comics that will tie-in recently, and will go to the comic book store on friday to look for any new ones. And 2011 cant get here soon enough; The Green Lantern Movie. I hope they do a good job on it and don't give us another Catwoman!

Hah! Glad to hear your son is enjoying Karen's figures. I remember her working on that Hawkman figure, about the same time she was doing Jonah Hex . . . .

Which we have as well. Ever since he showed up on that JLU episode, my son has wanted to see a Jonah Hex movie..here's to hoping they get it right!
