Godzilla and Star Trek

Ok, I did not know this and couldn’t find that it was discussed before so….

According to this video on the history of Godzilla, writer Jerry Sohl also wrote an early treatment for a Godzilla movie (which would go on to become Invasion of the Astro monster)…

I would love to have seen Kirk fighting some Kaiju, and Spock saying, "none of this is logical..."
What is we blew-up the Gorn battle and spliced-in a little Tokyo around them?

One of my favorite crossover comics was The Xmen vs Star Trek -
{Gladiator punches - and dents - the Enterprise}
Kirk: {Indignant} Did he just punch my ship?

Bones: "Dr. McKoy"
The Beast: "Dr. McKoy"

Sometimes we need a little 'cheese' in our lives. :D

Sohl does receive a credit for writing the synopsis for Frankenstein vs Baragon ( a joint Toho Studios and Henry Saperstein Enterprises production on which John Meredyth Lucas received part of the story credit) but I haven't found anything other than this video connecting Sohl to Invasion of the Astro Monster / Monster Zero.

Last year in April, the monthly fan art competition theme was "Big in Japan", which meant incorporating some Japanese element in Star Trek. Some artists created pieces with Trek characters, like Pike and Vina, drawn in an anime/manga style. Me? I got goofy and depicted Godzilla belching his atomic breath at the Enterprise, the kind of thing an elementary schoolkid might doodle in their notebook. The "Big G" is the 1962 version of Goji modeled by 2009MechaGodzilla and the "Big E" is by MakoFish. I can't recall from where or who modeled the StarBase 11 type buildings.

No, I didn't win that competition. That honor went to @Cobalt Frost for a very distinctive reinterpretation of the Enterprise. Here's the thread in question.
