I haven't watched it in years, but I'd be surprised if some of those better early eps didn't hold up. If the Matrix series demonstrates that the story of someone becoming a god is inherently more interesting than the story of someone being a god, than surely those lean, early, forward-looking teen Clark eps are the character's The Matrix to, say, Superman: The Movie's Matrix Reloaded or Zack Snyder's Revolutions.
