Goals. Score!

Apparently putting a goal in writing helps one to achieve it. What are your goals, Trekkies? Do you need to drop 17 lbs? Ask out the yummy barista? Beat the LSATs? Start a local underground comic lampooning Sarah Palin? Post your goals here, and update us on your progress!

I'll start:
My goal is to become a published author/illustrator. My book is mostly complete. I need to draw the last few pages and cover, create a few dummy copies, and send them to publishers and agents.

Today I've worked on my goal by starting this thread (yes, I am the kind of person who writes things on her to do list that she's already done just so she can cross them off!). :borg:

I've taken up the goal that my dad had: to see every Major League Baseball park in existence.

He's done it, now it's my turn.

I've got quite a long way to go. My progress so far:

Metrodome (Twins)
Shea Stadium, Citi Field (Mets)
Yankee Stadium, old and new (Yankees)
Fenway Park (Red Sox)
Nationals Park (Nationals)
Busch Stadium, old and new (Cardinals)
Kauffman Stadium (Royals)

Next stop on the list will probably be Target Field, the Twins' new park, which opens next April.

Short term: Remodel my entire downstairs.

I have it broken down into very small checklist goals to keep things managable in my head. I don't want to overwhelm myself.

Long Term: Rule the world.

I will not divulge those plans, sorry.

Though I have no interest in baseball, I have to say, that is a really fun goal! The traveling involved will really be worthwhile.

I, of course, have many more goals -- some health related, some personal, etc, and I won't be posting them all. Included is my own plot to rule the world, which hopefully will come to fruition before your own, presumably meager attempt is made. Then again, it might be fun to squash you and the minions of your uprising...

Ah, a challenger approaches!

Game on!

You fix shit (other than computers LOL) ...AND like Star Trek?

^ Yeah so this meetup...it should probably take place at my house and you should bring all your tools. :techman:

I want to completely finish the second draft of all mission text for Escape Velocity: Firefly (Part 1) by the end of the year. The damn thing's been inching along for far too long now. About time I released something.

I'm going to complete a BA in psychology!

And I am one day, going to come out of this horrible time I'm going through, and I'm going to do it with my idealism intact.

Those are my main goals right now.

My goals?

Pass my fall semester law school finals in December
Get a decent externship for my 2L and 3L year, possibly with the federal government as that's where I want to work.
Pass my other law school finals with at least a passing grade
Finish my JD program
Pass the BAR, probably in WA, possibly in another state
Find a job with the federal government, preferably outside of WA (I'm really, really tired of being here). Hopefully on the east coast if at all possible.
After that? Who knows...I'd like to find a boyfriend, get married, all that, but that's not something that can be planned really.

Oooh! Excellent goal. I myself have such a degree (though I got it as a double major and don't have any of the qualifying experience to work in the field). It's a fascinating subject, but I had to be constantly reading physics books when I was studying it because the imprecise nature of the social sciences frustrate me.

You are an awesome person, smart, genuine, interested, and fun. I think you'll make it.

Heh. You haven't met my sister.

Excellent! Two more challengers for my soon to be throne. I shall laugh at your feable attempts to usurp the throne which shall be mine very, very shortly....

*cough*

Look in a thread call "Are You Handy". We have evidence.

*cough*

I want to finish writing my current book, the books I have planned, and then get all of them published. I also want to return to Japan for a long-term stay, to work there in a capacity that uses my language skills, and to be with the girl I care about. I also want to weigh what I did a few years ago again.
