Glenn Frey dead at 67

Oh man, that sucks. I was just recently watching the "Dead Dog Records" arc from Wiseguy that he guest-starred in.
Rest in peace Mr. Frey.

Holy SHIT........I had no idea he was in such poor health. New story HERE says he was suffering from "Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia."

In addition to all the fantastic work he did the Eagles, I remember this song in particular. It was EVERYWHERE in the late '80s, at the height of the Miami Vice-mania. This, and "Smuggler's Blues," were absolutely huge. And, of course, "The Heat is On," from Beverly Hills Cop was a mega-hit.

Holy crap, that's unbelievable.

My wife and I were lucky enough to see them (front row) a few years back. You knew the words to every song.

I'm stunned.

RIP

Another musical icon gone..appears to me that this was related to post surgery complications (intestinal surgery has been indicated in several reports)..

Requiescat in pace Mr. Frey..you often provided the soundtrack to many events in my life..

Gonna be a fantastic band in the hereafter..

Very Sad news. Take it Easy is one of my favorite songs.

I don't want to sound cold and heartless. But I am reminded of something someone posted when Leonard Nimoy died. This is going to be a painful next few years. The Baby Boomers are reaching that age. Also that generation was the first to have so many celebrities in such a wide number of fields. On top of which people rarely retire now. We follow their careers until they pass away. In the past celebrities would retire or fade into obscurity. Now even retired stars, some in their 80s and 90s, have twitter accounts.

I am just saying we are going to have to get use to this. Our definition of "celebrity" is so loose these days. The more people who are famous, the more each generation is going to have to deal with these losses. Hopefully we will start to appreciate people more while they are still here.

The words have never been more true.

He may have checked out, but he will never, ever leave us.

Rest in Harmony, Mr. Frey

Just shit. Lemmy, Natalie Cole, David Bowie and now Glenn Frey? These past few weeks have really sucked for the music industry. Legends all and gone in a matter of weeks. This just sucks!

Time to pull out my Eagles greatest hits CD. RIP Glenn Frey.

This is sad news.

What is also sad is that the few reports that I have heard about it have all been in the context of talking about how The Eagles suck. Like "Glenn Frey has died. Wasn't that a shitty band?" It makes me angry, because it's disrespectful and also because The Eagles are fucking awesome. One of my favorite bands.

Same here. They're damn good.

On a side note does anybody know who the blonde in the You Belong to the City music video is?
She looks very familiar, like I should know who she is, but I keep drawing a blank on her name. It's frustrating.
