Glad I dont live in france!

For one thing, I don't think France should just out right ban it, what about peoples rights. If people choose to wear a burka, they should have that right IMO.
NOBODY chooses to wear a burkha, they're forced to by their misogynistic, cult society (which does not include all Muslims). They're brainwashed into it. The burkha is tantamount to removing the rights of women. You might just as well say, "If people want to marry more than one spouse why shouldn't they be allowed to"? Well, because in practice it virtually always turns into men marrying child wives and keeping them as ignorant sex slaves. I applaud France for taking this action and protecting women's basic human rights and dignity even if their Muslim husbands and brothers don't like it.

What's the downside?

I lived in Monaco one year working as a childminder. It was fab. The food was fab. The nightlife was fab. Mind you, I was 18 and stacked.

For that you get a virtual finger wagging.

What I'm saying here is think for yourself, turn off the ignorant bashing for a moment please.

Did anyone else hear that?

I'm sure I just heard Enterpriser roll over in his grave.

But back on the OT... personally, I like the French policy of laïcité. I don't have a problem with banning religious symbols from the public sphere, so long as this ban is applied equally, across the board, and is applied to irreligious symbols as well.

I would gladly give up my freedom to spread atheistic propaganda if I could thereby be free from theistic propaganda. And if I can tolerate the absence of billboards proclaiming there is no God, then surely the religious can tolerate the absence of billboards proclaiming the opposite.

As far as I'm concerned, burkhas and such are just religious gang colours, and deserve no more respect than any other type of gang colours.

Thank you to have written that in a better English than I would ever be able to write :)
