Giant Robot Anime'

What else is out there besides Big O? I mean Colossal 200 or 300 foot tall robots.

Edit: I prefer non-comical shows, but a little comedy is okay if the action is exceptional.

Big O fan, more for the mystery and deep stuff, giant robot battles is just icing on the cake.

^ They are considered "real robots" since they operate more realistically since they require maintenance, can be damaged, and can run out of ammo. GaoGaiGar King fo Braves is an excellent example of the super robot genre very worth checking out.

Despite my user name Im not really a fan of mecha anime. It usually needs some other "hook' for me to really get into them. Currently Im enjoying Gurren Lagaan for Viral & Code Geass for the Orange & the weirdly pretty Clamp art.

The Big O required replacement parts and maintenance. There were a couple episodes where they showed the butler working on it.

Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (does the SDF-1 count as a giant mech?)

Yeah, it is giant, but I'm looking for something I haven't seen before. Robotech/Macross is pretty old. Gurrenn Lagaan has an interesting look for the main robot and I like the big titty chick, but it is pretty high on the comedy side. I want action.

Evangelion
Robotech

There was this animated show, non Japanese(though the animator names are usually Japanese on many shows anyway), and it has this little kid robot, but he was partnered with this giant white robot with a guy inside that had dozens of guns that would come out of his arms. It was called something like Rusty and the Big Guy. I never really got to watch it.

Really old school and probably difficult to find:
Mighty Orbots

My favorite is Patlabor, which is admittedly a little on the comedic side. Though you could always seek out the films, which are much more serious and totally fantastic (aside from the third one).
