I believe the publisher fell through, so they had to find another publisher.

It was supposed to come out last fall (October, I believe), but as Activision moved through its merger with Vivendi, its management chose to drop pretty much every Vivendi game in development that the company couldn't sequelize to hell and back. Brütal Legend, Ghostbusters, Chronicles of Riddick, and a few others were subsequently dropped into publishing hell, until Sierra was able to convince Atari to publish Ghostbusters.

Another importer that I've seen come highly recommended is Video Games Plus, which is based in Canada and currently offering the Xbox 360 version of the game for $69.99 ... so, £39 or so?
 
Is this a multiplayer game? And if so, anyone know how many players can play on one console?

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions do not feature local multiplayer, only online. The Wii version features split-screen co-op.

I admit I only skimmed it, my mistake. :) I originally read the news on Kotaku when it was announced and they didn't have all the details at that time, and then I got distracted because that was the same day that 3D Realms went out of business and Duke Nukem Forever was cancelled. Truly a sad day for the industry. :(

Anyway, it appears I was wrong and I'm ready to accept my public humiliation.

*sticks head in stocks and gets pelted by rotten fruit*
 
Too bad the closest Toys R Us to me is ... shit, I'd probably have to go to Des Moines or Milwaukee. :(
 
I'll probably pick this up for the Wii. Looks fun, and I've been looking forward to some new GB stuff for a long time. :techman:
 
I'm going to give it a rental first. I have a PS2 and I was disappointed to find out that the PS2 have the cartoony graphics. I have nothing against cartoony graphics, but compared against the cool realistic renders, it brings disappointment.

I'm glad they are releasing it this month. 25th Anniversary of Ghostbusters is this month!
 
Actually now that I've seen some footage from the Wii version it looks kind of lame. The graphics are pretty cartoon like, although the control might make up for that. Is this coming out on PC at all?

Yeah, it's coming out on PC. I believe Dan Aykryod has said that the Wii version is his favourite, he said he likes the cartoon-y style.
 
Even though I'm planning on getting the 360 or PC version I am sort of drawn to the Wii version's cartoony graphics, I guess constantly playing Team Fortress 2 makes you love cartoony graphics.

I'm thinking the same thing, but I doubt the Wii version will really be as good.
 
The IGN review outright states that the 360 version has better graphics.

Weird, considering that the developers spent so much time banging on about the PS3 being their lead platform.

Not that it matters, but I thought it was interesting.

YES. I have been so excited about this game since I first heard about it.

As a kid, my hero was Egon. I LOVE THE SMART, NERDY ONES.

Does anyone still have any of the Ghostbuster figures? I still have Egon and Janine, the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man and the Ecto-One.

All the figures I ever had as a kid were massacred by my next door neighbour, with a hammer and chisel or aerosol and lighter. Never did get in to collecting figure after that...
