GhostBusters 3 is Finally Being Made. (2020 Release)

Holy shit! There a Ghostbusters/Transformers crossover!

Secondary Canon
IDW Comics

1000 years ago, give or take, as a protracted civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons came to an end on Cybertron when the former left the planet. The Decepticons were unable to pursue them due to the presence of Gozer, Zuul, and Vinz Clortho. Megatron, Shockwave, Soundwave, and Starscream approached the Temple of Gozer. After Gozer's counter offensive to Starscream's attack, Megatron declared he would deal with Gozer himself. Megatron walked up the temple stairs. Vinz charged and leaped at him. Megatron knocked him aside and asked Gozer why it came to his world. Gozer replied to came to end Cybertron and implored him to choose the form of their destruction. Vinz Clortho appeared at Gozer's side when he induced telepathic contact with Ray during the Tiamat incident.

I wonder if they will bring Slimer back as well. Also if they catch ghost they will need a containment unit. I do have a theory the backpacks won't be nuclear powered anymore. Jason

Slimer is IN the trailer
Sure there is a chance it's not him. also, he looks like he's seen better days.. he's more grey then green. maybe its because of new circumstances or unfinished CGI. I my theory is that he got out (I believe they moved the containment unit to this town.. underground)

Based on what? Vanity Fair mentioned him being the maternal grandfather, which makes sense given his daughter and her kids are the main characters. Generally you want the emotional connection be with people who are onscreen, not Sir Not-Appearing-In-Film.
I didn't read the article.
And I see your point.
I just figured it was the paternal grandfather.. just because of how little the kid knew about him.. and if her father was gone, than she would not have heard much about Egon. That was just my hunch.

Why you say that?

As I stated, I'm only basing this off the appearance of the Ecto-1. It doesn't have any of the markings or modifications from the last time we saw it in Ghostbusters 2, which it should if this is supposed to be the same vehicle used.

The car is clearly as it appears in the first movie. So, unless, it's somehow explained how it reverted back to its original appearance, to me anyway, it looks like the second movie is being ignored.

Or the first one got put out to pasture between films, and they got another one that is the same model, because it worked for them.

"Hasn't been a ghost sighting in 20 years" aligns with the events of GB2 / 1989 happening.

Paint and some tools? It’s not like it’s a different model car. I guess they just liked it better that way.

it's okay. the table broke the fall

Nice shootin' Tex!

And the first movie is a movie adaptation of the Real Ghostbuster's real life as depicted in The Real Ghostbusters. One of them even complained about the actors names and said they sound like a law firm.

https://ghostbusters.fandom.com/wiki/Citizen_Ghost shows what happened after the events in the movie.

https://ghostbusters.fandom.com/wiki/Take_Two Shows some of the background of the movie being made and the Ghostbusters go to the premier and you can hear the movie dialogue playing even though they don't show the screen.

Disappointed with the trailer.

I know the OG GBs are very old at this point, but I don't care. Ghostbusters 3 should have been their movie, with the kids as a subplot that eventually ends with the torch being passed maybe at the very end of the movie.

This is clearly a kids movie, with some cameos, and that is a damn shame.

The 2016 "reboot" was a horrid disgrace, and now the 2020 "sequel" looks to be a mediocre Spielberg coming-of-age movie set in the ghostbusters universe.

Maybe it's just time to let Slimer rest in peace.

Look how low to the ground the Ecto-1A sits too. Maybe they came on hard times, saw how much all the extra shit on the roof weighed the car down, leading to shittier gas mileage, then decided to take the car back to basics

My headcanon is that Peter insisted on the changes to drum up business and Ray later removed it because he didn't like it and Peter wasn't willing to do the work to put it back or just didn't care enough to bother.

I wonder whom did Egon Spengler marry after the events of GB2. I hope it was Janine.
One doesn't have to be married to have kids.

I liked the 2016 movie. Entertaining, but derivative. The same will probably be the case for Afterlife.
Same. The story was nothing to write home about, and some of the comedy didn't work, but the four leads? I loved every single one of them, with Kate McKinnon just nailing the hell out of the eccentric inventor/Egon Spengler vibe.

Also, you need Patty. Patty comes with benefits. :D
