I'm not concerned with whether it matches up to the first 2. GBII was a load of shit, GBIII might be worse, but whatever, there's no untouched legacy to avoid tarnishing.

I've already seen Ghostbusters when Mummy 3 came out. The terracotta warrior army coming to life would have been the single best thing about a Ghostbusters movie ever.
And I have no interest in seeing young Ghostbusters taking over. I hate these kind of stories. They are never good, especially not in this day and age.

Probably not but something can come close and there's nothing wrong with coming close.

He looks really fucking awesome. I really do think he'd do a new film if the script actually impressed him and if he has that kind of power I wouldn't blame him. I'd not want to do a crappy movie again either if I could help it.

Re: Aykroyd Comments on Murray, Ghostbusters 3! Working on Script w/Ra

After waiting 12 years for Terminator 3, and the disappointment that was, I don't want a BAD Ghostbusters 3 either.

But if it's not going to be made, I want a better reason that because Bill Murray was being a jerk of some sort.

If the script is bad? OK. Fine. Long as Bill says so. I'll trust his judgment.

Just can't deal with a vacuum of information and no real reason for why it's not being made, and can't deal with it just being because Bill is acting eccentric.

Either make it, or don't. But give us a reason why, once and for all.

The first one came out months before I was born. I watched it a thousand times as a kid. The second one came out when I was 5, I still remember waiting in line to see it. Remember seeing Ecto-1 at a car-show. In a sense, I've waited 4/5ths of my life for GB3. If it's going to happen or not, give me a damn reason. Don't leave us hanging.

Ghostbusters 3 will be so in line with Beverly Hills Cop 3, Die Hard 4, Indiana Jones 4, Blues Brothers 2000, Terminator 3, and other terrible late sequels whose names just escape me.

Man he looks good back in that uniform, and happy to be in it too. Fingers crossed it's a good omen.

I loved at least two of those movies, but I refuse to say which ones.

    Heh.

At this point I keep going back and forth between not wanting a third movie made and being willing to take on a very cautious "Wait and see" kind of attitude. Quite frankly I'll be amazed if the movie is actually shot.

I know I don't want some nonsense involving a bunch of new Ghostbusters with the originals appearing in glorified cameos. If the movie can somehow achieve a mix of old faces and new ones contributing to a solid script then I'll probably give a damn. Otherwise I'm not interested.

I'm a fan of 3 of those films so further proof that the loud minority internet haters aren't 'right' about them.
I don't care to change your mind, just don't make a blanket statement as if this were a truth.

    DH4
    IJ4
    T3

    All overly nitpicked.

Well I'm just hoping that IF GB3 actually sees the light of day, that they don't go the douchey route of hiring like all these "late night comedy" actors and it's just a scat-fest. Honestly the first 2 were funny without a lot of stupid fart, sex and gay jokes. I mean if they have Slimer humping people I'd walk out.

Although... what'd be funny is if they hired Jim Belushi to sort of be the voice of Slimer as a nod to Slimer's original template John Belushi. They effin' need Slimer in GB3.

Hm, and why can you make blanket statements as if they were a truth?

Because that statement is a truth.

The nitpicks of IJ4 were hashed out ad nasuem in the thread here. People would grasp at something, anything to complain about after the 'fantastic' elements were broken down in comparison to other IJ movies. When people have to resort to bitching about the color palate, lack of using the gun and more CGI than yeah, those overt nitpicks. Not saying its not A nipick one can have. The individual is just being overt about it at that point.

I agree. There are too many low-brow comedies out these days. There aren't enough intelligent comedies anymore. If they truly want a next generation of ghostbusters, then go with people that were their age when they started with GB1, and people with good track records. Paul Giamatti would make a great ghostbuster. I'm sure there are others that could competently make good ones.

    Sadly your laughing at yourself.

    Why the difference you ask?

You stated it as if everyone agreed with you and it was fact.
My statement acknowledges the complaints, while still overt but does explain why they are that way.

    Checkmate my friend. :p

You like to hear yourself talk a lot, huh?

Oh boy, just imagine ", imo" at the end.

It explains why you think they are that way. An opinion again.
